A smooth and wave-like progress bar for media playback is about to appear on Google’s Android Auto system, according to code sent in the latest update. Version 15. 9. 6551 of the app contained evidence that there will be changes to the way the interface looks although Google has yet to say when it will introduce them.
Enhanced Visual Feedback for Media Playback
Forget about the old flat line! The new progress bar has this cool curved wave shape that moves along as your audio plays. It works well with Google’s updated Material 3 Expressive design guidelines making things not only look better but also be easier to use (even if you’re driving). And because the bar is now nice and thick as well as animated, it’s thought drivers will find it even easier to see at a glance; meaning they can check how far through their song or podcast they are without taking their attention off the road.
